I missed yesterday (Sunday) unfortunately, but I still want to make up for that day so I want to (try to) write 2 posts either today or tomorrow.
Today’s topic is: where do you write?
I write at my kitchen table in the mornings (okay, sometimes afternoons; I love to sleep in) with a cup of coffee. I think there’s nothing better than waking up with a fresh cup of coffee and a blank page. I just feel so productive, and as the day goes by I start to feel less and less motivated. The alternative to writing in the mornings for me, is writing at night. As soon as 11 or 12 o’clock hits I just feel energized (kind of erratic sometimes)- but most of all, I feel as if I can do anything. It’s these nights where I go to bed with all these ideas for what I’m going to do (or rather should do) the next day. However, waking up the next day can kind of be a pain so the morning after a late night never really goes according to plan. I guess that’s another thing that I’m working on.
A pro tip: if you need to wake up early but you don’t want to go to bed early, you can leave your blinds open a little so that when the sun comes up your room will naturally become brighter. When I do that, I can wake up at 7 or 8 with little to no problem. Ah, the things you learn in university.
That was a hell of a tangent I just went on, anyways, the prompt for day 6 always asks what the ideal place to write in is. I think that again, it’s either early in the morning or late at night. So for me the ideal place to write in is a brightly lit coffee shop at 7 A.M. It would be quiet and I would be able to catch the very end of the sunrise.
I find that I don’t get much writing done in the afternoons, I either feel lazy and I procrastinate or I get so caught up in doing something else that I just don’t have the time. Again, I think that’s something that I’m working on: allocating my time and not getting too caught up in things. I think I just need to stop stressing sometimes because I tend to overthink things that are just in my head. I realize now that I have a LOT of things I need to work on (like Kylie says, this year is about realizing stuff- please don’t have me for that joke).
Oh! I almost forgot- for an upcoming post (day 15) I need a suggestion on what I should write about. If you could either comment or send me a submission (found under contact) I would really appreciate it!
So thats it for today, I hope you can try my tip and let me know how it works for you! I’ll talk to you tomorrow.
