Today’s post is about drawing inspiration from my experiences. As embarrassing as this sounds, I don’t really leave my house that often- usually once a day, but that’s literally just so that I can go for a run. I guess that’s what I’ll write about then (wow I really need to get out more, I think I’m gonna end up turning into one of those mole people).
So on today’s run, I actually observed a bunch of things. Let me set the scene for you: I run on a trail that stretches for about 10 km (theres a 4-5 km stretch that I like to run everyday). The trail loops around a lake and it’s pretty quiet, very peaceful and overall just a great place to be. There are these signs that talk about all the wildlife that live there, everything from these lobster looking things to hurons to coyotes; you can feel the nature and the noise from the road is kept out by the trees.
There were a few people out today, more than I would expect on a Friday morning. I saw a bunch of people out walking their dogs or taking kids on walks. Whenever I see people out and about during a weekday, I usually wonder what kinds of lives they lead (since they’re not at work). Is today their day off? Are the unemployed? Retired? If I catch snippets of their conversations as I pass them by, my mind starts to create these elaborate stories of who they are; essentially creating a character. I honestly get so distracted by this sometimes that I zone out and it can lead to be creepily staring into outer space (maybe this is why I don’t leave my house much).
Anyways, I don’t want to sound too creepy if I describe some of the people that I saw. I will say this though, I get so jealous of the people out walking their dogs. As a HUGE dog lover, it kills me that I don’t have a dog so seeing people out with their dogs makes me kind of jealous. However, at the same time I’m very excited (you could say a little too excited) when I see a dog. Call me crazy but seeing a puppy just makes my heart happy. Side note: all dogs are puppies (even older dogs, they’re just puppies with a little experience).
It’s getting kind of late so I guess this is where I’ll end this post. I hope I didn’t sound too crazy.
